Frequently asked questions

Do we need a group to create a tournament?

No. Use standard Tennis Singles directly, or create an event within your tennis group. Groups also keep an ongoing leaderboard between events.

Can we play short sets or use a match tie-break?

Agree your on-court format before the event and record the finished result consistently. Check the chosen scoring settings rather than assuming Elo-X automatically enforces every tennis tie-break rule.

Can we combine pools with knockout?

Yes. For example, send the top two entrants from each of two pools into semifinals and a final. Agree qualification and tie-break rules before play. Compare tournament formats →

Can we run a Doubles event?

Create a custom team group for 2v2 play and enter fixed pairs for the event. Keep Singles and Doubles in separate competitions with the scoring rules agreed before play.

Do all players need an Elo-X account?

Yes. Participating players join with their own accounts. See Tennis results and ratings for activity information, or the group setup guide to bring your regular players together first.
